MIMO radar signal design to improve the MIMO ambiguity function via maximizing its peak

چکیده
One of the important obstacles in MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) radars is the issue of designing proper transmit signals. Indeed, the capability of signal design is a significant advantage in MIMO radars, through which, the system can achieve much better performance. Many different aspects of this performance improvement have been considered yet, and the transmit signals have been designed to attain such goal, e.g., getting higher SNR or better detector's performance at the receiver. However, an important tool for evaluating the radar's performance is its ambiguity function. In this paper, we consider the problem of transmit signal design, in order to optimize the ambiguity function of a distributed MIMO radar system via maximizing its peak. & 2015 Elsevier B.V. MIMO Radar Ambiguity Optimization using Phase Coded Pulse Waveforms
Multiple input multiple output radars transmit partially coherent or noncoherent waveforms for improving spatial resolution or spatial diversity. While waveform design for SIMO radars concentrate on improving the delay and Doppler resolution characteristics, waveform design for MIMO radars involve optimization of delay, Doppler and spatial resolution characteristics. The resolution properties o...
متن کاملEffects of Geometry Configurations on Am- Biguity Properties for Bistatic Mimo Radar
Bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar can improve the system performance for obtaining the waveform diversity and larger degrees of freedom (DoF), and effectively counteract the stealthy target for its transmit antennas and receive antennas separated placement. Similarly with the conventional bistatic radar, the geometry configurations of bistatic MIMO radar also play an importan...

متن کاملParameter Dynamic Estimation in Near-Field Bistatic MIMO Radar System
—This paper proposes a novel algorithm of parameter dynamic estimation in near-field Bistatic Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Radar. When a target lies in the nearfield region, the near-field wavefront is spherical, and the plane waves assumption is no valid. The existing methods and signal model based on the far-field assumption are not applicable to this situation. In this paper, we pr...
متن کاملAmbiguity Optimization Using Frequency-Hopping Waveforms
Recently, the concept of MIMO (multiple-inputmultiple-output) radars has drawn considerable attention. In traditional SIMO (single-input-multiple-output) radar, the transmitters emit coherent waveforms to form a focused beam. In MIMO radar, the transmitters emit orthogonal (or incoherent) waveforms to increase the spatial resolution. These waveforms also affect the range and Doppler resolution ...
